AHR Board Member Irwin Cotler on the Danger of Incitement to Genocide
Advancing Human Rights Board Member Irwin Cotler spoke at Sweden’s commemorative event, Raoul Wallenberg 2012. A Swedish diplomat, Wallenberg saved tens of thousands of lives and is a symbol of courage and heroism during the Holocaust. While serving as a Special Envoy in Budapest, Hungary, Wallenberg issued protective passports and sheltered Jews on Swedish property, saving them deportation by the Nazis. The Swedish Government has commemorated Wallenberg’s life and commitment to justice with several events, including this speech from Advancing Human Rights’s Board Member Irwin Cotler.
